Thank you!
I think your article on Matagorda was a little bias when it came to the businesses you reported. Karankawa village and Spoonbills are both way to over priced for the average peron whom are the highest percentage that visit and spend their money in Matagorda. The Harbor restaurant has fantistic food and the owners also own the Shell Motel which both are very reasonably priced. Both places are very clean, comfortable and have fantastic atmosphere. The next time you visit please stop by these and other places. These and other places are what made Matagorda what it is today.
Thanks for your comments, Elaine. I wish I’d had more time to check out all the great places that Matagorda has to offer. I will look for them next time around!
Tracy, would you please contact me re: a potential writing assignment?
Thanks,
Randall
Just read your story on Huffington Post and carrying the fire!
It is a wonderful perspective and hopefully you will fuel the greater fire of transformation radically needed in this age. Keep writing.
Hola Tracy! pasé por aquí a decirte que me encanta tu sitio web! éxitos!
Just read your article in AAA Texas magazine (Jan/Feb 2010) and I am disappointed a Houston gal went all the way to the Dallas area and the Hill Country with no mention of a mighty fine group of Bluegrass players and singers in League City every third Saturday except December. Bay Area Bluegrass Association has been pickin since the 80’s there. Their festival is Fire on the Strings in Conroe in May. bayareabluegrass.org
I don’t play an instrument or sing, but have enjoyed going there every now and then to just listen in for the (free) show and the 3 or 4 rooms of jammin going on all evening.
I just read about True Bluegrass/Just Fiddlin Around in the AAA Texas Journel.
On your web page I learned that you lost your job. I can relate to that. I lost mine a age 55 but it worked our for the best. All one can do is pick your self up, dust off, and get going abain.
But that not what I am writing you about. My wife is president of the Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center, Inc in La Grange, TX. They have a state of the art out door 430 seat amphitheater complete with concession stands and indoor restroom. The center is located on about 40 acres of ground and the Fayette County Fair ground is accross the road. There is ample space for RV’s and parking
Apprantly you are big in Bluegrass. The amphitheater would be a good place to have a festival. Prehaps you could help us find some one who would be intrested putting on a festival.
Check out our web pabe http://www.czechtexas.org., email address czechtx@verizon.net. Phone 888 785 4500
Thank you and good luck with your new career.
Charles
I recently read an article in the Jan/Feb 2010 Texas Journey about you and bluegrass music. I am 82 year old “lover” of bluegrass and old-time country western music.
Do you have any other material on bluegrass music?
If so, I would appreciate receiving copies of what you have.
Thanks ver much.
